Silvana coordinates events and special projects for Education Matters.
Silvana previously worked as a Community Builder at InPlay, helping create a new online resource that matches Oakland youth with after-school and summer programs. She also led the UC Berkeley chapter of Students for Education Reform (SFER), beginning her journey for educational justice in West Contra Costa through community organizing and advocacy.
Silvana knows that the quality of a child’s education is too often determined by the level of privilege in a community, and that every child deserves an excellent and equitable education. She dedicates her work to addressing the persistent inequities in the West Contra Costa community.
Silvana holds a B.A. in Social Welfare with a minor in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.
